I always enjoy browsing the artistic images of DeviantArt.com. There is so much power of expression and creativity that sometimes I feel compelled to add to this huge database of skill and human imagination. I’d feel as if it would be a valuable resource to the searching power of Scour, mainly because of the bar is set extremely high for the quality of art and is usually followed by its contributors.

no offense, nukedoom, but deviantart is mostly based on popularity, and a lot of things are irrelevant to image searches.

    believe me.

Okay for the less artsy folk out there then, why not have Scour pull off images out of Corbis.com? For the people who need to have a picture out of history this would be the place to go to.

To me i get what image i what in Gettyimages.com . Video search is obviously the same popular guy youtube.. Relevant Search results… and more than that. the related videos which the results give..

If i go for searching videos any where else like metacafe.. i get videos. but no relevant videos. are related to my previous search.

    Scour Team,
I use Google to search for images and it works brilliantly. It has a drop down menu allowing you to search for high or low resolution images. This is imperative to a good image search engine.
Vimeo is the next generation Youtube. You should partner with them for the video search.

Keep up the great work. Love Scour!

    peace,
    -marc

When searching for videos, my obvious choice is youtube. But when it comes to images there are a lot of different sites out there with a wide variety of content. Deviantart is great for finding artwork but when I’m looking for stock photos I usually go to sxc.hu or shutterstock.com

I just joined Scour today. The searches are great. I did try the image search and what was not appealing at all is that, the search results for images did pop-up in a new window. This takes lots of windows opening when I click on an image result that has been searched by Scour. Moreover, images are searched mostly in Flickr, I hope. The same search which I do in Google or MSN does not work. It would be great if you can have the basic feature as to displaying the image in the same page and not popping it out and searching different sites.

    for videos, don’t forget veoh.com!!

veoh has higher vid. resolution than youtube
    and better sound quality.

for other video sites, metacafe.com, megavideo.com, but I still highly recommend veoh.

    3 suggestions
It would be nice if we could rate and comment on the video and picture results.
If they didn’t pop up in a new window when clicked on
You searched more sites for the image search.
